How is it March already!? You know what they say… Time flies when you’re having fun. It’s definitely been the case when it comes to collating content for the second issue of Badlands Journal.

Young, Wild, Free was our starting point for this issue – and with it we hoped to capture that adventurous spirit of the creative youth working both in Australia and abroad today, and all the talented women who harness this youthful, uninhibited energy in everything they do.

We photographed our cover girl, actress Madeleine Madden, on the eve of her 21st birthday, and just weeks before the premiere screening of the first episode of Picnic at Hanging Rock (two words: must see). We flew to LA to profile Eves Karydas, a musician who we think you’ll be hearing a lot more of this year. We had ice cream at Salt & Straw in Venice with Neada Deters, who inspired us to start wearing more white, and live that dreamy California life. We took a tour around casa Anine Bing, and noted down interior style tips from the fashion designer whose home (and wardrobe!) is every bit as amazing as you would expect.
